When Rich called me up to ask if I would take engagement photos, we started planning it all out. The location would be the Huntington Library and Gardens in San Marino, CA. Although I have photographed plenty of couples, families, babies, weddings, and portraits, I have only photographed a small handful of engagements. The question is always “Where do I hide?” and in this case more-so because the soon-to-be fiancé knew me. Armed with my baseball hat, sunglasses, One Bag from UNDFIND and my shoulder strap tucked into my jacket, I tucked in for the long wait. The plan was to shoot on the Moon Bridge in the Japanese Garden, but I quickly realized that no one was walking across it. After some text message correspondence, we were again armed with a plan. Rich asked Jennifer to take a selfie with him in front of the bridge. While she looked at his phone to frame the selfie, he brought up a ring, dropped to one knee and made his proposal. She said YES! Congratulations Rich and Jennifer!
